Well, we are playing over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog this month,
and today is my SUPREME challenge!!!
and today is my SUPREME challenge!!!
NO. PATTERNED. PAPER.
(yikes!)
I was totally inspired by soapHOUSEmama, Ashli Oliver to make an amazing creation.
Alas - I think I will need a LOT more practice, but please enjoy her first video tutorial.
First, I choose a selection of images that I think are interesting.
Shall I make an allover pattern?
Will I paint, or ink, or use gelatos?
I think I will start with my favorite - periwinkle blue.
And a homemade stamp to give some texture to the background.
And an interesting thing happens - the old paint color reappears!
And it makes me happy.
Butterflies are happy.
(Shhh! these are actually moths, but you won't tell, will you?)
Let's make them pretty.
A waterbrush & watercolors...and later some Rock Candy Stickles.
Perfect! These little beauties are about to be fussy-cut.
Now a little something to land them on.
Remember - no patterned paper.
No problem!
Some ink, a stamp, a punch, and voila!
Gotta have some pattern... that's just how I roll.
Put it all together...
The picture is of my signature piece of jewelry - my charm bracelet.
I love how the waste from the punch looks.
So who needs patterned paper anyway?
It is charming too. It has a very whimsical feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a comment on my blog (I had to rescue it from the spam filter would you believe?!). I still have about half a dozen pages to do in the wedding album but i will post the whole thing as a slide show once the recipient have the hard copy.
