Aaaah, January... planning lots of scrapping this month.
Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to choose one of
kits from Scarlet Lime as your jumping off point for inspiration.

We are not specifically making planner kits this month, but the lively colors & patterns
of Christy Tomlinson's creative kits should be a delightful inspiration for your use.
Let's take a look inside the Magic Blue Box!
I was fortunate to have an old 6 x 6 "She Art" paper pack by Christy,
so I took the easy way out & used that as my foundation.
I added embellishments based on the inspiration:
Here's my January 2016 "Less is More" kit.
You may have noticed the absence of alphas.
I may not need them! I will leave you with that bit of mystery...
Don't forget to tune in on Monday for our Forgeries on the Fourth post,
where you can link to posts that can help you make your own favorites
yourself by shrinking, not growing, your stash!

Ooh, I don't usually like tassels - well, I wouldn't know how to use them on a layout - but yours are rather fab... I may be tempted to have a go!
ReplyDeleteI agree those rainbow tassles are stunning. I loved the way you built your kit and I'm intrigued by the lack of alphas ...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Wow - what a beautiful mix of colors and the rainbow tassels are just divine! I like the little clips and acrylics too and will definitely be checking back in for the mystery of the missing alphas!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting to see that you used the same inspiration kit as I did (kinda, sorta), but with such different results. Of course, I love that you used Christy paper as the basis for yours as well. And I think you've included a lot of personality in such a few embellishment. What a great kit to start 2016.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kit, Leslie! Can't wait to see how you use it!
ReplyDeleteLet me guess? YOu are going to forge your alphas? So fortunate to have the designers papers to begin your kit. Alas, none of that in my world. btw, I once wrote a short story, where the main character's name was Les Ismore.
ReplyDeleteThose tassels are cute and so easy to make.(A great way to use up embroidery cotton too) I love your kit, fresh bright colours and pretty OA papers.
ReplyDeletea fabulous kit to start the new year! The tassels are a highlight for sure and I just know that you will be delighting us on Monday with more information about some Queen of Forgery items. I love the concept of less is more - same for me this year! Scrap on Sister!

ReplyDeleteSo cute, love those tassles!
ReplyDeleteOh, doesn't that 'She Art' collection make the perfect base for your kit? Your embellishments are also fantastic (and I'm betting that there are some fantastic forgeries in there.) Happy to have a little mystery .... x
ReplyDeleteme Likey! Wish I would've had some of those SHe Art papers! Love that felt floral adds!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds! I have that She Art papers too (12x12 though)! I love them and have been kind of hoarding them. My bad. I've used a snippet here and there but I don't think I've used an entire sheet anywhere. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your extras too.
