Welcome to the first of three CKC August challenges.
Happy Sandcastle Day!
(Find out more about it HERE.)
"So! it's time to be a little nostalgic and be inspired by that most
enjoyable childhood activity to create a project featuring sandcastles."
I'm still working my way through my beach vacation photos so, perfect!
I crafted my kit this month with a variety of textures included.
Featured here are cork embellishments, a layered photo mat that includes the kraft
tissue paper, wide linen ribbon, & embroidery embellishment on the title element.

I added some color to the white cardstock with Color Shine. By the time I was done,
I felt it was a little overwhelming, so I used white paint applied with the ball end
of a dry embossing tool to make the perfect tiny circles that I wanted!
Bonus: it looks like sprays of water plus it adds glossy texture.A perfect day...
Grab your kit & let Sandcastle Day inspire YOU.
Be sure to post on the Linky for a standing ovation,
and don't forget to return on the 12th & the 16th for
the remaining two CKC challenges for August.
Happy scrapping!

Gorgeous layout! Love the details.
ReplyDeleteThat burlap strip is perfection as well as the stitched over sentiment. You've got all the details covered! Adore this layout!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I wish I could see that texture in your matting in person! Great job. Ya know, I almost dug out my burlap ribbon trim I purchased a couple of years ago to add to my kit but didn't. HMMM, maybe I should create an add-on?
ReplyDeleteA cute layout featuring many textures.Love this take!
ReplyDeleteCute layout! I love the technique you used to make the splatter--very beach-y!
ReplyDeleteBravo for all that great stitching over the chalkboard-look title piece! I have been trying that whole splatter thing lately and it just drives me crazy - there seems to be a very fine line between just right and too much and I cross it every time. I think yours looks just great and echo Kelly's comment that it's very appropriate for a beach layout. Cute photos too.
ReplyDeleteStitching on a tag now too! you are becoming a stitching queen! love what you did here and what a great layout :-)
