CKC Challenge #3: Sounds Foreign to Me!
foreign
adjective
UK /ˈfɒr.ən/ US /ˈfɔːr.ən/
"In honour of our German
inspiration kit, and the fact that you might have
had a go at
understanding the kit content list, be inspired by
foreign words on your project."

I managed to make this a double-challenge page by
combining with Whimsical Musings #221, be inspired by water.
This summer we installed a water tower to help provide another
needed commodity up at the cabin, which got me thinking
about documenting how we manage the conveniences of home.
My French title phrase, meaning "That's life", was inspired
by this little bit that was left over on my desk from my CKC July kit:

I managed to get a lot of texture on this page with
textured cardstock, kraft & cardboard alphas, a cork diecut,
a vellum feather with stitching,...
...and a cute little button adorning the camera embellishment fussy-cut from a Project Life card.
It really is pleasant & even fun to get a break from the rat race!
Choose your own foreign phrase to scrap - hey! Pick an Italian pasta!
Can't you just imagine a page about fettucini alfredo?
If you get right to it you could be in time for the Member's Hop.
For details see the information at the bottom of the challenge post linked above.
Excuse me while I go check the fridge : )
Thanks for stopping by! |
A beautifully put together page to highlight that fabulous retreat of yours
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! LOve that cork branch and the vellum feather.Yes it is good to go off the grid.
ReplyDeleteYour last comment has me hungry too!
ReplyDeleteI like the natural embellishments you added to the page, especially that vellum feather with the stitching. And photos showing dimension, like the one of yours with the close-up of the camera, are so appealing to me - they make me want to run over to my table and create!
Your retreat is going to be fabulous and definitely work all the time and work you're putting into it.
Oh, I LOVE the stitched feather! Beautiful layout.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've combined all those natural tones. Fab page.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the stitched vellum right away - need to give that a try, it looks beautiful. A great page and one I need to acknowledge too over at WM! Thanks for immersing yourself into my whimsical foreign word meander!
