070616 CKC July Challenge #1

CKC CHALLENGE ONE Inspired by Beach Reading
Take a cue from the covers for subject, title, colors, layout or any other way
that sparks your imagination. These are from the Popsugar website here.

Having just returned from a beach-hopping vacation, the beachy view
on the cover of The Rumor prompted a page with a toes-in- the-sand/my viewpoint photo.

I used a very light dripping of three different Heidi Swapp Colorshines.  I used the large border punch below on the teal gingham to create the little wave shapes & large circles from the off-cuts! The Dear Lizzy chevron paper was transformed into the little banner top left.  I used a small hole punch on the pink ombre paper to make some more small circles & scattered them in the same ombre colorway down the left hand side of the page, plus a few other bits & bobs from various makers as shown below.

A closer look...

Although I didn't use my kit for it, the sign on Mary Kay Andrews' Beach Town gave me
the perfect design for my vacation mini-book cover. Show & Tell on that when it's done!

Find your inspiration & grab your scissors & glue.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Such a dreamy page and I love all those intentional touches, like the paper waves and carrying over the ombre paper to the fun little polka dots. That banner at the top with the three hearts is completely swoony-worthy and a very clever use for that chevron paper too!

  5. Oh my! this is totally gorgeous. All the sweet elements you added like the waves and the ombre dots. Just adorable. I need to remember the offcuts from the large circle border punch. And what a great way to use that Dear Lizzy paper - I loved that line so much.
