0608140 CKC June Tutorials

If you've been following along for any length of time,
you will know that I am a sucker for a great patterned paper.
I find the forging of these especially fun, although I sometimes
make much more work for myself than is really practical :~)
but that's what we're here for at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog

These were the papers I was counterfeiting this month
Mine:

I fell in love with the chevron - Heidi Swapp Favorite
Things "Wordy" paper. Every time I looked at it & thought
I had it figured out I couldn't get it right, lol!

I made a 12x12 sheet but didn't fill it all the way,
and I really like the graphic edges.

Since I had a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad of
grunged-up solids, I cut those into 2" strips.

Drew a center line & marked off 1/2" increments.

 I used a 1" punched square as a guide,
lining up top & bottom with the center line.

Eyeballed the corners & cut them off. Some of
these had to be trimmed when I fit the pieces together.

Putting the pieces together! Random isn't so easy...
I think this would be fun with patterned papers, too.

Next paper is the Bella Blvd Peep Starz.
 Mine:
I just LOVE how this looks! Like the Milky Way....

Easy peasy with Echo Park Getaway "Adventure" paper,
a tiny heart punch & some scraps from the last counterfeit!

I'm not a fan of puffy accents (I've had them stick on my
page protectors, or separate from the backing) but I do
like the glossy look. A little trip to the dollar store for
some nail polish added to wood veneers - voila!

The second inspiration kit from Clique Kits had a
paint chip rainbow strip paper so I tossed these in.

Punched vellum butterflies - sweet - Martha
Stewart can take Heidi Swapp with these, hehe!

I still may attempt to forge that rainbow circle paper.
I have an idea for using an empty toilet paper roll...

Be bold - be brave - jump in and give it a try!
The easiest way to start is by a simple one-for-one substitution
of the kit elements. And there's nothing like searching your
stash and finding those gems you fell in love with long ago
& getting them on the page.

060114 Counterfeit Kit Challenge June Kit Reveal

Sliding into summer this month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog with
two bright & bold inspiration kits that keep things pared down & easy-breezy!

So glad you are joining us for a peek at this month's counterfeit kits by our awesome Master Forgers.
June's inspiration kits:

As similar as the overall color schemes are I have chosen the black over the wood grain.
Now let's peek into the Magic Blue Box...

Urban Farm Girl
 - a mix of bright vibrant colors with splashes of black.

I have included black ink, black paint & black Colorshine to add some edgy grunge. Am looking forward to trying some freestyle wet-work. This month I will add in  bits & bobs on a case-by-case basis, as the inspiration kits were light on the extras. I have included some punches to create with as I go which give a nod to some of the elements represented by the inspiration kit goodies.

Now continue hopping! Don't miss a bit of the clever counterfeits by our Master Forgers.
