062415 June CKC Member Blog Hop

So glad you are hopping through our June CKC member's hop!
It's your time to shine & inspire us all with your creativity.

Some months this is my dilemma...
I always love my kits, and the process of putting them together.
When I go to use them I can find myself uninspired for the challenges.
I'm sure there is a Design Team secret to avoiding this!
Challenge #1:  Patterned Die Cuts
Use only PATTERNED PAPER to create
a layered die cut for your project.

I'm always a sucker for a rosette.
Like the FAB ones in this book:

So I made this from (mostly) patterned paper:

I wanted to scrap this photo from our recent trip to Georgia.

I just love how the adults are so laid back but the three year old is ready for what's next!
I used two more of the little kraft hearts to make my visual triangle.

I wish I had stitched the white chevrons...

  1. Super sweet layout and just love that rosette :) so cute it is and perfect for a layout without adding a ton of bulk to it. Yes I have hit that road sometimes and this month was one of those times, just love putting the kit together and there it sat in it's pile waiting for me to d something with it. Hopefully I'll get some impulses to use it in the following week and maybe a bit next month too.

  2. I love your rosette, and how you got the same look without all of the bulk! I am definitely going to try that (someday, lol)! Very pretty page!

  3. I actually like yours so much better, its easy to use (not so lumpy-bumpy) and the colours are just gorgeous!! How cool is the perspective in the photos and I love that its B&W cos it makes all the colours pop... you are very clever with this sort of thing!!!

  4. Beautiful rosette and that photo is just wonderful - she really does look like she's raring to go! The pastel colors of the layout is a nice combination with the kraft title and hearts and I like the stitching around the edge too.

  5. Beautiful layout. That rosette is awesome, I really like it better. Such a sweet picture. Yes I have put my kit together and then wasn't inspired to make anything. I keep mine together and if I haven't made anything in a couple of months I take it all apart and it goes back into my stash.

  8. Cute rosette Leslie. Your colours all match in so well and you even highlighted the chevrons on the page as well.

  10. That rosette is fantastic. Brings to mind a dream catcher. What is that bottom piece? Is it a die cut? What does it look like? Inquiring minds, need to know.

  11. I can't help you with the DT secret but I do believe that very often, every kit has its time. I have more than one CKC kit on my shelf so that I can grab and go - if this month's just isn't working for a particular challenge, I will grab another. Of course, I can't do that with my Scrapabilly kit and concentrate on using the products in a way that makes me happy. The rosette here is fabulous of course! As is the rest of the layout and what a fab picture!
