Please give a warm July Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog
welcome to our Guest Designer, Gretchen Henninger aka
Gretchen is not only a prolific & skilled scrapper
but a wonderful photographer, a hiker & a consummate knitter
whom you will enjoy getting to know this month.
Susanne is up this month in the Fearless Leader role...
...and has chosen this hot, summer-lovin' inspiration kit:
Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop & Create Delivered "Heat Wave" kit from Summer 2015
Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop & Create Delivered "Heat Wave" kit from Summer 2015
We'll start with my papers...
I can only identify about half of them, but if you're desperate to know, leave a comment below & I'll do my best! I think that yellow gingham on the right might be one of the earliest supplies that I still own.
It began with Kaisercraft's Finders Keepers/"Curio" gorgeous floral.
Here is the complete kit:
"Hot Mess"
The messy part is that it isn't inspiring me :(
I'm going to have to make that a little throwdown to myself this month...
I have a few added surprises up my sleeve for the Forgeries on the Fourth tutorial post.
Don't forget to give it a peek - it often helps round out your kit.
Be sure to post a link to your kit when it's finished.
Remember - challenges will be posted on the 6th, 12th & 16th to help you use up that kit.
Now! Go see the rest of the scrappy genius put into the Design Team's kits!

You WILL be inspired Leslie, all those beautiful colours to play with and that "crazy family" 6x4 can surely inspire you, can't it???
ReplyDeleteLOL! Your title makes me chuckle! So many wonderful goodies in there. Maybe you should sort this kit out into a few page kits to help you get inspired. I know you will create some unique and beautiful layouts.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think your kit is warm and lovely! Here's hoping that inspiration knocks soon.that navy floral print and the yellow pinkfresh letters are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteIt IS a great counterfeit - and hopefully inspiration will strike xxx
ReplyDeleteOh I want your kit - I almost choose that buggy paper for my kit, so I'm be waiting to see it show up in your work. Happy scrappy times!
ReplyDeleteI've no doubt that you'll be creating beautiful pages with this kit, even if you feel less inspired by it at the moment. I felt the same way about mine but it's starting to grow on me. That beginning floral paper is lucscious - it picks up the colors of the original and has a more summery feel to it I think.
ReplyDeleteAnd about not knowing the source of some of your papers: I wish that back in the "old days" more manufacturers used branding strips. It's nice to know where something originated and even more fun to use something made 5+ years ago (or more).
Love it! I like all the floral touches throughout the whole kit. I'm sure you will have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you're not feeling inspired yet, but I'm sure something will come to you soon - it is a fabulous kit!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie. I like your kit way better than the inspiration kit. And to be fair, I have to add that I do like the inspiration kit. Your tweaking of the colour pallet is what has me wishing this was my kit. I know your won't mind if I choose to counterfeit you, will you?
ReplyDeleteLeslie such a beautiful kit I want to play with yours :)That floral is the perfect inspiration to get started with too :)
ReplyDeletewow! loving it all; would definitely inspire me in a major way!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful kit. You've outdone yourself. I can't wait too see all the goodies you're gonna make this month! My kit is ready, but we went on vacation the day after the reveal so I haven't gotten it photographed yet.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun kit, so much to work with. I love those cheery yellow alphas.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! and I particularly love those bursts of bright yellow - I think I need more yellow in my scrapbooking life. As I am VERY late to the party, I know that you did get inspired by your kit and made some truly gorgeous pages so all's well that ends well!
