071215 CKC July Challenge #2

Second July challenge at CKC is...

Old Tool Challenge:
Get out a tool you have not used in a while and do a technique with it on your project!
Well, of course, what I was looking for ...

...was nowhere to be found.
 SO! Plan B...

My project is an album for the photos of our cabin build, still a work in progress.
The embossed woodgrain will make some nice mats & tags for the book.

I got these Melissa Frances chipboard covers at the Novi scrapbook convention.
I cut out pieces of kraft paper to make 10 matching page bases for my book.

Then I trolled my kit for papers & little goodies that might help tell the story.

Here's my cover:

We were out there again yesterday so the file of photos grows!
Stay tuned for more pages this month.

070415 July CKC Tutorial post

Here in the U.S. it's Independence Day!

We will be at a small town parade & barbecue nearby where my daughter lives,
but I'm delighted that you stopped in for some forgery help.

I tackled a few of the papers first (as usual)
The kit had the two lace papers on the left - mine are on the right.

I used this Basic Gray throwback paper - Aged & Confused Sublime/Raspberry Blue.
Misted with Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray over a Prima floral stencil.

The white lace forgery was simply an ANCIENT Martha Stewart overlay on cardstock!
Forging isn't always labor intensive or needful of a slew of supplies, it's breaking down the inspiration into an element that speaks to you & works with what you have on hand.
Our goal is to motivate you to use up all the goodies in your stash by seeing them in a new light.

Next were some Project Life-style cards.
See the little "LOVE" one?
I couldn't get a larger image, but you can see the inspiration in mine.
There was one little floral accent in the "O".
I have a beautiful alpha stamp set in my kit that made this special.

Here are all of the cards:

The love birds, top left, are some Little Yellow Bicycle canvas stickers
spritzed with a teal, blue & white Dylusions ink mist.
Then I stamped a few details - makes me happy!

I mopped up the leftover ink with some 3x5" graph grid cards.
I used one with some chipboard butterflies.

I had a lot of fun with these.
I think I'll be doing these as a regular part of my kits.

Enjoy the rest of the inspiration!
See you on the 6th for Challenge #1.

Thanks for stopping by!

SO! Let's get right to what's in the Magic Blue Box.

These are the inspiration's Kaisercraft Blue Bay collection papers.

Here's the rest of the  "Mary, Mary"   kit:

Frames, a metal key standing in for the metal arrow, some fancy white embellis from
Melissa Frances & Prima, the Daily Flash alphas, a brown pen swapped for the brown ink,
and a good selection of die cuts. I've tossed in some buttons & a little washi & trim.

A closer look...

BUT! If you know me at all, you may suspect that there is more...
...a   "Quite Contrary"   add-on.
I've included more papers & some alphas, some words to make some PL forgeries.
Loads of laces & ribbons & pretties. Tossed in some stencils & paint to make a little mess.

I KNOW!!! I KNOW!!!
I went off the deep end this time, lol!

I've also set aside the full packs of embellis that I chose for Mary, Mary. Manufacturers include Glitz, Dear Lizzy, Kaisercraft, Pink Paislee, October Afternoon, K & Company, Prima…no, they aren't even in the picture! This should be an interesting month    =8~O

Wish me luck! Can't wait to see how the inspiration sparks your creativity.
