If you've been following along for any length of time,
you will know that I am a sucker for a great patterned paper.
I find the forging of these especially fun, although I sometimes
make much more work for myself than is really practical :~)
but that's what we're here for at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog!
These were the papers I was counterfeiting this month
from the Scrapbook Circle "High Five" May kit.
Mine:
I fell in love with the chevron - Heidi Swapp Favorite
Things "Wordy" paper. Every time I looked at it & thought
I had it figured out I couldn't get it right, lol!
I made a 12x12 sheet but didn't fill it all the way,
and I really like the graphic edges.
Since I had a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad of
grunged-up solids, I cut those into 2" strips.
Drew a center line & marked off 1/2" increments.
I used a 1" punched square as a guide,
lining up top & bottom with the center line.
Eyeballed the corners & cut them off. Some of
these had to be trimmed when I fit the pieces together.
Putting the pieces together! Random isn't so easy...
I think this would be fun with patterned papers, too.
Next paper is the Bella Blvd Peep Starz.
Mine:
I just LOVE how this looks! Like the Milky Way....
Easy peasy with Echo Park Getaway "Adventure" paper,
a tiny heart punch & some scraps from the last counterfeit!
I'm not a fan of puffy accents (I've had them stick on my
page protectors, or separate from the backing) but I do
like the glossy look. A little trip to the dollar store for
some nail polish added to wood veneers - voila!
The second inspiration kit from Clique Kits had a
paint chip rainbow strip paper so I tossed these in.
Punched vellum butterflies - sweet - Martha
Stewart can take Heidi Swapp with these, hehe!
I still may attempt to forge that rainbow circle paper.
I have an idea for using an empty toilet paper roll...
Be bold - be brave - jump in and give it a try!
The easiest way to start is by a simple one-for-one substitution
of the kit elements. And there's nothing like searching your
stash and finding those gems you fell in love with long ago
& getting them on the page.
