My counterfeit kit this month, Inky Fingers Again, was named for the fact that I
made some forgeries. I have really missed working at the counterfeits & had a lot of fun.
First up is that bold blue & white stripe paper.
I made my calculations & cut my blue strips.
The "oops" is the fact that I had an extra stripe left!
I rarely sort out the math in paper crafting with any success.
I simply flipped one of the stripes over to create a spacer that would reveal the white
background between the blue stripes, which were adhered down with a line of tape runner.
Next is the ombre circle paper.
At first I thought I would use these circle stamps, but by the time
I got to forging I'd forgotten all about that idea, lol!
So I used a circle punch to make a template for drawing the circle grid.
Then painted it with watercolours.
The last paper I tackled is the butterfly paper,
using two extremely old stampsets.
My thought was to mix a puddle of a variety of colours & use it to stamp,
but the images were muddy & blotchy & obscured the detail of the stamps.
I grabbed my set of cheap ink pads which worked great!
I plan to fuzzy-cut some of these elements for embellis.
Finally I made a gold stuffed heart.
I used a scrap of kraft paper for the base & punched a heart for the felt stuffing template.
I overlaid a piece of gold metallic vellum & stitched around it.
A very successful set of forgeries this month!

ReplyDeleteFour forgeries - very impressive! Extra points for using older supplies too. I really like the gold hearts - was wondering what would be good stuffing and I like your felt idea. I seem to have forgotten about forging lately and will have to make sure I get to it next month.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous counterfeiter :)
