100120 Archi-scraps October Challenge

Circles & layers

Our October Archi-scraps challenge was inspired by this amazing edifice.

I found this little lovely to scraplift (knowing that I had a multi-photo page to scrap) by searching my Pinterest Scrap Inspo board for circle pages.

Link HERE

In spite of the fact that it has no circles (lol) it inspired me, knowing my circles could be a background for the photos. I tucked in & popped up elements, including my title, for layers. I also used textured cardstock to add one more layer.

I had intended to stick with the 8-1/2x11 format but it proved too small for my story.

Had a great time & bonus! - love how the page turned out.

092620 Date Day Saturday

 In search of Autumn...

Quite colorful but with the sun playing peekaboo the photo ops were tough...

Bought a beautiful Amish crafted basket.

A standout in Gladwin!

Gone to seed.

A little work to do.

Looking forward to cozy nights up here!

Tried a new (to us) eatery in Midland. FAB brisket & pulled pork barbecue, and we know Q! The sides we ordered were smoked beef fried rice (unexepected) & a good southern coleslaw. Such a beautiful afternoon to dine alfresco & people watch. Couldn't resist sharing a peach cobbler for dessert.

Thanks for stopping by!

090520 Date Day Saturday

Always spy Lynnette's plaid!

Yoder's Amish Flea Market & Quilt Auction in Clare Michigan was our first stop. Grateful that they re-opened this fall. We were too early for a stash of chicken noodle soup for later but scored some uber fresh sweet corn & a few fun goodies.

Quilt auction

Tractor-powered ice cream maker!

Onward to the North!

A fave lunch spot, just below the Bridge

What else? Fresh whitefish

And a few pounds of fillets for the freezer

Crossing the bridge with a wave at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island

Return trip from the U.P. with frozen pasties for the freezer

I wish I knew which Great Lakes carrier this is going through the Straits

Fresh corn, maple syrup, homemade pasty gravy, smoked whitefish pate, frozen pasties, old wooden German frame, cheese boxes, fresh whitefish fillets, to go corn chowders, two new copper Upper Peninsula coins - eagle & a big buck, iron door hardware, and a wonderful hand crafted spruce from a hand saw.

Until next time!

090120 CKC September Kit Reveal

Welcome to Master Forger of Ceremonies Cindy Foster's CKC September Kit Reveal. Let's start by introducing her delightful Guest Designer Misty Murphy! She can be found at her You Tube channel Crafty Soup Video.

Hi, I'm Misty and I'm so glad to be guest designer here on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog! As a kid growing up in the 80's I was in love with the Hallmark Store sticker isle as well as the stationary and pens isles. Combine that with my joy in flipping through family photo albums and I was destined to become a scrapbooker. While my crafty roots were well established, my hobby didn't bloom into existence until 1999 when my first baby was born. A scrapbook kit to document baby's first year was gifted to me by my mother-in-law and I was hooked! While styles and products have shifted over the years my core design go-tos have not. I'm a 12x12 scrapper with a modern style, dotted with a bit of mixed media from time to time. I also make cards and dabble in many (too many!) other crafty endeavors.

On a more personal note, I have been married to my husband for 26 years. We have three kids, ages 21, 18 and 13. I've been a SAHM since the kids were born and have homeschooled the kids from day one. We live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and we currently share a multigenerational household (which is really convenient during the state of the world right now!) Now as the kids are approaching leaving the nest I'm looking to my future and figuring out what comes next. I know it will still involve crafting!

Cindy's choice of inspiration kit is August 2020 Flavors of the Month Kit from The Scraproom.

Can you believe how fast this year is moving! Summer is almost over, schools are starting, leaves are changing here in Minnesota, the weather is great, the garden is producing, we are still grilling and enjoying the patio and deck, I am not ready for the white stuff to come.  With that said, I picked a kit that that has a little bit of all of this going on. It is the August 2020 Flavors of the Month Kit from The Scraproom.  I love how I will be able to scrap all of this with just one kit and how I can combine the kits and make a layout using a little bit of all of them. It is like one giant kit or four small kits.

Cindy's inspiration pointed me in a themed direction. I decided to hunt & gather all of my travel stash (a goal I have had for a long time.) I have a number of travel projects in my unfinished pile so hopefully I can make a dent in those this month! I've named my kit  for one of the paper pads.

 "Are We There Yet?"

I also have an assortment of stamps & loose papers.

I am absolutely certain that there is more lurking in my stash, but this was a good start!
