040118 Archi-scraps April Challenge

April Archi-scraps challenge: lots of lace!
I recently returned from what we fondly call our annual Spring Break,
a pilgrimage from the frozen north in search of warmer weather.
This year things are running a little behind schedule everywhere!

I had marked the following layout as inspiration for this challenge.
I wanted to use a colorful background & flowers.

I picked out some possible goodies to play with.
That "Water Colored Memories" paper pack by Ken Oliver is so gorgeous!
Each pattern has two options - a fully saturated color & a softer faded version.

My final choices:

I had hoped to use the stencils but chickened out.
I did spritz over the butterfly & then flipped it & stamped with the leftover ink.

Did I do the inspiration justice?

I hope you will create a little piece of lovely from the April challenge!
Make sure to link up so we can leave you a little love.

031218 CKC March Challenge #1

Susan's CKC Challenge #1 this month is

Happy Birthday!
"March is a big birthday month in my family - we celebrate five of them in less than a week! So in keeping with the celebratory spirit, make a birthday-themed project (layout, card, pocket page, planner spread, etc.)."

I ran across this inspiring layout & knew it was perfect for my kit this month.

Unfortunately, none of the birthday photos needing scrapped were, though.
I loved the scenic photo & remembered that I had a number of sunrise photos, and then I got really clever & thought that a sunrise IS the birth of a day... so this:

I often get a Bible verse in mind for layouts that don't really need any journaling and this one is absolutely perfect - Lamentations 3:22-23 There is a wonderful hymn written about this verse, called Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

Time for you to take up the Happy Birthday! challenge.

030418 CKC March Forgeries

Here is the March inspiration kit:

So much to love - so much to FORGE!

I loved the woodgrain paper with hearts & originally thought that I would  punch out the hearts & sew them on. Then I saw this Instagram post from Suse Fish  and changed direction, straight to my stencil box & modeling paste.

Ever hear of the self-adhesive stencil tip where you pat it on your clothing to minimize the stickiness? It still tore my paper - booooo - when I tried to reposition it.

Applied the modeling paste...

Tore the paper again!!! grrrrrrr...

Loads more fun was getting inky to counterfeit the puffy elements (hearts in  Susan's case, star's in mine) with colored ink & embossing powder + a tiny little heart banner & a stamped word, and journaling cards.

Half the fun of building your kit each month can be creatively forging the elements you love!
Go for it.
