101220 CKC October Challenge #1

My "Be Happy" October 2020 counterfeit kit:

Master Forger of Ceremonies Tracey has issued the first challenge:

The first challenge for October is for you to pick your favourite Season from either Autumn (Fall) or Spring and scrapbook a page (a double page if you dare!!!) about an event or activity that occurred in the Season you have picked.

My inspiration began with this October Stick It Down double page sketch:

They post a monthly Double Sketch, Single Sketch, and Card Sketch with an amazing Design Team for inspiration. Pop by & take a look, won't you? Here's my take:

I've got a few less bits & bobs and my journaling appears on the photos themselves.

Here's a closer look:

My title block was anchored with a couple of fussy-cut labels from my counterfeit paper.

More fussy-cutting of the 2018 Pink Paislee/Horizon #04 word paper.

2014 BasicGrey/Second City sticker photo corners helped dress up the open sky of this photo.

We get an early frost here in Michigan!

I printed two photo collages of 3-1/2" square photos, one for each page of the spread. I had a photo that needed to be horizontally rectangle, so I just slipped it into two slots on the right hand side collage. I reserved a blank spot on the left hand side for my title block.

My other problem was only having one sheet of each of my kit papers. I knew that the bright mixed-media style orange paper would be perfect but it was so old that it was flimsy (not cardstock weight), so my spread rests on a foundation of white card. I had to carefully calculate the size of my strips to eke out what was needed from that one sheet!

I'm so pleased with how this turned out. It's certainly been awhile since I've "dared" to tackle a two-page spread! Thanks for the challenge, Tracey!

So what else do we have left for you in October?

060619 CKC June Mini-Kit

I'm subbing in with a mini-kit this month & I decided to do a page kit for my Mother's Day photos. I got treated to a special evening out with one of my precious daughters plus my granddaughter. I grabbed these items from my original June kit:

When I made up my embellishment forgery cut-out sheet I included the Girls Night Out sentiment with these photos in mind. I tossed in the tassels as they matched perfectly! I made the star card from my version of the Hip Kit May Color Kit:

I built my page on a black cardstock base, using my forged mosaic paper in the corners & the forged grunge stars in the middle.

I used the star card as a base for my title. I fussy-cut the sentiment & cut the printed logo for the event in a circle - I think it looks like the moon in the middle of all those stars! - and tricked out the bottom with the tassels.

A little silver & gold ink dressed up this stamped embellishment forgery.
I'm glad that I got the chance to build a mini-kit this month!

Be sure to share your creations with us, at
our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community
or share them on Instagram.

053019 Throwback Thursday Layout

This is a Public Service Announcement for
reining in our runaway digital photo libraries.
 Just say, WHOA!

I'm not even sure where/how I unearthed these photos last night
but I couldn't wait to scrap them today!

My son-in-law's 2015 birthday dinner.
A whole bunch of mediocre quality photos of a hilarious evening.
(I adore candid photos! And barbecue. I love barbecue...)

SO!
I went in search of pink paper & found this May 2018 CKC forged paper.

Link HERE
This was the inspiration kit paper.

Shimelle Box of Crayons On a Roll
Fun & happy background.
A little machine stitching.
Perfect pocket cards.
Little birthday banner.
Cute little piggie embelli.
Some stamping to enhance a few of those circles.

Nothing exceptional about this, except the memory of a wonderful evening PRESERVED.

021219 CKC February Challenge #1

February CKC Challenge #1

Master Forger Julene is the "Master-mind" of February's inspiration & challenges. She thought the idea of using lots of embellishments was good after seeing the page above.

I did this page specifically for the challenge:

141 new American Greetings flat stickers!
I knew that I would make a heart shape with a blank strip in the center.
I  l-o-v-e how this turned out!

I ran across the loved acrylic piece & took awhile to decide what to do with it.
The tiny fussy-cut print of Bampa & the grands all tucked in turned out delightfully cute on here!
A few other Felicity Jane acrylic stars & the white heart filled in nicely.
The stamped border finished off the page.

The second layout was done from my kit for LOAD219 Day 8.
If you've never heard of this amazing "LayOutADay" challenge click the link above!

44 stash-busting 2010 EK Success Sticko puffy stickers!
Hope you are inspired to use your kit to achieve this challenge!
You can always fussy-cut or punch shapes out of the papers if you need more elements.
Happy scrapping!
