080123 CKC August Kit Reveal & Blog Hop

The August inspiration kit sneak peek

Barreling through the summer in the States here we are in August - impossible! I had a crazy (in a good way) July & it shows in my August kit which is wildly rogue. I'll explain in a minute.

First let's give a warm welcome to our own darling Clair returning for a Guest Designer stint this month!

"Hello! Hello! I'm Clair, I live in the NW of the UK with my lovely fella and two, lovely, little black cats. I am blessed to have a little craft room in the attic, where I can retreat whenever I need a little bit of me time.

I created my first Counterfeit Kit in 2011, which means that the ladies on the DT have been in my life for almost a third of it! I was lucky to be offered a spot on the DT in October 2015 and, with a few 'life breaks' here and there, remained on the team until 2021. I used up a lot of my stash :)

I've loved to see an influx of new followers over in the Counterfeit Kit Community Facebook Group and, even if I can't be there as often as I'd like to be, it's such a source of inspiration for my own crafting. I'm really looking forward to my month as a GD and can't wait to see everyone's kits and makes!

Clair xx"

What kit do you suppose Master Forger of Ceremonies Lisa has chosen?

"I've chosen another new kit club for August - this time from the European online shop Pink and Paper. It's run by Flora who has designed with some of the big names including the latest Pinkfresh Studio collection, Lovely Blooms.

Her kit club is a little different - it's a private membership which includes two online live workshops to use the kits - of course I had to give a go! I love it when something is coming out of my neck of the woods!

Apart from the fact that I think new kit clubs should be applauded in general, I think this is an interesting mix of colours and motifs as well as being a kit that can be stretched as you need it - stronger colours can be picked out for colder seasons, lots of florals and summer colours for us in the middle of summer. While there are not jump-out-obvious items for forgeries, I know the Design Team will surprise me with finding a way to make it their own!"

I ended up choosing paper by paper on a whim by following the reveal photo.

1. green (check) & 4. pink stripes

2. stripes

5, marbled

7. large florals +

7, b-side strawberries

9. yellow +

9, b-side small floral

10. scallops/banner +

10, b-side icon imagery

puffy stickers & ephemera

words (planning to color the white ones as needed)

The BIG question is, will they play nicely together?!? We shall see...

I hope you are excited to make your own version from your stash & perhaps some "forgeries?

Our Design Team of Master Forgers will inspire you as you hop through their kit reveals below.

Come back tomorrow for our "Just the Gist of It" post that gives an insightful break down of the inspiration kit vibe. "Forgery on the Fourth" shows ideas to craft your own version of kit elements.

  1. Thanks so much for the warm welcome back for this month! As always, I love your take on the kit. I'm especially loving the marbled patterned papers (and, of course, all of the b-sides!) Hope you have fun with your kit this month x
