091412 My Love/Hate Relationship w/Wet Techniques

Have a lot of things on my scrapping list - BPC Festival, ScrapHappy Project Runway Challenge, CKC Vintage View kit to use up + September sketches & challenges, and preparing October LOAD for ScrapHappy. It's all keeping me inspired!

This is the latest misstep in my "wet scrapping" journey:

Funny how I like it better this morning than I did last night (isn't that usually the case!) but most of what is on the background is remedial scrapping. Some of those sequins cover ink blobs (bad blogger moment - no pics :~) No other way to deal with them, and of course, I had already sewn & glued & made permanent the rest of the layout before I got to the splatters/misting stage...methinks this is the crux of the matter! I think we have a BREAKTHROUGH.

Oops - poor Kitty got splattered...I don't really mind it on these goofy pictures,
but again it is all about the timing of these wet techniques.
And there's my counterfeited kraft frame & button!

This was my attempt to counterfeit the Studio Calico "Take Note - Protractor" paper in the September CKC kit. I thought this vintage embelli was perfect, and added the stitching across the page with that lovely variegated rayon thread I have been using from time to time. Very happy with the effect.

Here is the September CKC sketch this layout came from:

Onward!

  1. This is extraordinary! The stitching is insane! Y'all are going to break me and make me stitch on a layout at some point. LOL! LOOOOVE your misting, the silly title and the sequins are over the top fabulous! LOVE THIS LAYOUT!

    1. Thanks! Just give in to the sewing - the great thing is today a lot of it is all messy-looking anyway, so you can't really do it wrong!

  2. Love the title and the kitty in the frame. You always make it work...and it works well.

  3. Oh, you are too hard on yourself - there is no such thing as perfect misting - I am convinced the "professionals" mist 10 times that they don't tell use about and post only once. Love the mix of embellies you used here.
