110813 November Counterfeit Kit Forgery Tutorial

This month's inspiration kit, Jenni Bowlin's October kit & addons, provided many opportunities for forgery. Usually I find the bolder patterned papers a fun forge but this kit's papers really weren't the stars.

I fell in love with the transparency embellishment leaves.

Someday, when I'm a digi diva, I will be able to print out a decent forgery.
In the meantime, I decided to make my own leaf stamp to use this month.

I also freehanded some pp leaves a la the BG feathers & some inspiring forgeries
from the kits that have been posted so far this month (you know who you are!)

I think I may sew some veins on these...

Next I downloaded some images from The Graphics Fairy

Fussy cutting ahead for me!

A few basic tips for those who aren't fans...

Move the paper, not the scissors.
Keep your eyes ahead of where you are cutting.
Don't try to cut right on the image - leave a small border.
If you make a miscut no one else will ever know!

More fussy cutting... I wanted to introduce more orange into my kit.

Unsolicited product endorsement: Tim Holtz Tonic Scissors - their micro serrated edge gives total control.

Next: the pie chart mask!
First a printout in the size I wanted, then I FUSSYCUT (are you seeing a
pattern here, lol?)  it out of transparency, then misted with Color Shine & voila!

I kept the loose cut-out pieces as I really like the look of the pie charts
cut from a variety of patterned paper & those will be templates for that.

This kit really offered a lot of forgery opportunities!
Thanks for looking :~)

  8. Ooh, now this post is just full of inspiration! I hadn't even realised that the little leaves were on transparencies, but I have some little stamps that need dusting off! And, I love the fussy-cut flowers - they have reminded me of a sheet of Sassafras Floral Diecuts I have in my stash that would work perfectly with my kit! Thanks x
