010115 CKC January Kit Reveal

I'm hoping you are reading this in your pajamas
no earlier than 2 pm on January 1st, after a leisurely
delicious brunch with your favorite people.
(Oh, and someone else is doing the dishes!)

After a month off from making a counterfeit kit you are, of
course, awaiting this reveal with great anticipation & delight :~)

Hip Kit Club December main kit
Hip Kit Club December Embellishment kit

Icy cool & glittery gold...
let's see what's in the Magic Blue Box!

Here are the papers from our inspiration kit:

Here's my take.
I've arranged my counterfeits with the B side papers below the larger image of the A sides.

I couldn't resist subbing in the gorgeous feather paper for the main floral.
Both have a watercolor look to them.
The floral had a more peachy tone but I went more on the pinky side.
The original was also more subtly patterned overall than
most of my stash so my choices were a bit bolder.

I've kept things a little more manageable so far this year, lol.
The paper on the right with the images in the little squares will be cut
into as needed instead of stickers & embelli packs as in the inspiration kit.

My plan for the photocopy of these is to use the gold pen on transparency paper to trace
whichever word(s) I need this month. I will then fussy-cut them for my page.

Here's my version of American Craft's
Amy Tan alphabet embroidery stencil kit

Evalicious Photo Shoot wood veneer counterfeit.
I plan to stamp my own sentiment on the banner piece.

Don't forget to return on the 4th for our little freebie mini-class
of tutorials on how our amazingly creative Design Team
made some of the elements in our counterfeit kits. I feel like this is
one of the biggest perks you get from the CKC - new ways to make
that old, tired stash stand up & be counted as trendy!

Don't miss one stop on this kit reveal hop:

  3. stunning kit, and I like your alphabet stencil.

No, sorry I'm not in my pyjamas, and it's before lunch. They children are all playing a role play game that doesn't need me so I'm taking a little break online before cleaning up in the kitchen.

    Many blessings to you.

  4. Terrific kit! You have some wonderful substitutes and I adore the watercolor feather paper in place of the flowers. Your idea to use the word stickers as a template is a great one to get more bang for your buck. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you, Tina :) I have a small tag punch so those were really easy. I must say, though, that I adore the look of the cut out lettering but no patience to do it with a craft knife!

  10. I love the idea of tracing words in gold pen and fussy-cutting them - I would never have thought of that. *Digging out my metallic pens and shamelessly stealing the idea*
