020118 Archi-scraps February Challenge

This month our Archi-scraps inspiration is really tricked out.

Use rhinestones or bling
We are still in the first year of truly living in our house, and I have been having a lot of fun each season with changing up the decor. I hung up this branch to hang vintage ornaments from at Christmas time and decided it could stay for the winter - with a facelift.

I gathered up every snowy, wintery element I could find.

I love the pompom garland & made one for my page.

Find your bling & add your project to the Linky!

011218 CKC January Challenge #1

It's great to be inspired by the Counterfeit Kit  challenges to use your kit!
I mean, what is the point in gathering up all of that scrappy goodness if not to use it up?

Here is my January "Fresh Start" kit.

Challenge #1 - New Beginnings:  "January is typical for resolutions, goal setting, restarting, moving in new directions and therefore I'd like you to be inspired by new beginnings for your project."

I had a look through my recent photos & also pondered what might be new in 2018.
I had used the Waterlogue  app on my phone to alter this photo of our house.
The story of this new beginning had not been told yet & my kit was perfect for it!

I had a number of horizontal patterned papers & unsuccessfully tried using them for a title piece.
Yikes! Where on earth could I add the journaling?!? I hate it when this happens...

Do over! I salvaged & reconfigured a few strips for the title and went in a new direction...

First I put the story down on paper, which helped me begin to envision
using some of the whimsical elements of the papers to my advantage.
Bonus stash buster? I used a 2009 Basic Grey add-in paper for my background!

Always glad to pull things together & creatively tell my story.
Isn't it cute? :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

010118 January CKC Kit Reveal

I love January. I love clearing away all the glory of the Christmas season.
I look forward to a quiet month tucked away in my happy scrappy place.

Please welcome our January Guest Designer, one of our regulars, Julie
You'll have a chance this month to get to know her even better.

On to our inspiration kit chosen by the lovely Lisa:

Cocoa Daisy November 2017 Fair Isle Main Kit
I thought this was a very interesting mix.
Although obviously seasonal there is still a kind of artsy tropical vibe to it.
Let's check out the Magic Blue Box!

I began (as usual) with the papers...

Organic shapes, plaid, subtle print, green organic,
snowflake, rows of cars, more snowflakes, stripe...

I actually had some excellent matches, but I have my December
Daily to do yet & wanted something a tad more out of the box.

Webster’s Pages/Nest “Tickled”, Shimelle/Go Now Go “City”, Dear Lizzy 2012, Kaisercraft /Secret Bird Society “Mystery”, Kaisercraft /Fine & Sunny “Avenue”, snowflake washi stand-ins , unknown

Here's the full Fresh Start kit:

I've tossed in a couple of stamp sets & other goodies from Felicity Jane.

Here's the hop list - don't miss a stop!
Head straight to Lori HERE.

Hope your new year is merry & bright!
