070121 Archi-scraps July Challenge

Layer mixed patterns

Architecture really CAN provide some amazing inspiration!

And that's what we are all about at Archi-scraps.

Julene mentioned a quilt as an example, and I just so happened to have crafted a paper version for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge forgery.

It made the perfect backdrop for a page about two family heirlooms that belonged to my husband's grandmothers and are now in the safekeeping of his mother. Nona's should say post WW I - I will have to correct that :D

It was fun finding photos of the ladies. The plate & cake plate were photos that I fussy-cut.

I cannot WAIT to see what others come up with for this challenge!

Be sure to post on Facebook at the  Archi-scraps Community Group.

Thanks for stopping by!

062721 CKC June Bonus Challenge!

It's Tara's birthday!

And this girl is generous - she's sharing it with all of us (but not the cake...hehe)

Her special request is as follows:

The challenge is to create a layout, using the color palette from my chosen kit, about you - celebrate YOU. Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses. Tell me why you are you.

Fortunately I have my counterfeit kit to draw from so I know it will coordinate.

There is a lot I could tell you about myself. My interests (crafting, quilting, photography.) My family (married 46 years, 2 grown daughters & 4 grandchildren.) Two year college graduate. Retired office worker. Cancer survivor. Sinner saved by grace.

I pray that if I can be a blessing to you that I will hear from you!

Thanks for stopping by!

061821 CKC June Challenge #2

Master Forger of Ceremonies Tara says, This kit is all about beautiful, bright colors and today I would like you to create a rainbow of color on your layout or card without using an actual rainbow!!  Here are some layouts that I found on Pinterest that will give you some ideas!

 My June kit:

I knew I would use the 7 colors of 49 and Market Wishing Bubbles (top right quadrant) that I bought on a whim (translation: discount) I deliberately put them in the front of a drawer to make me use them & they were great with my kit. I was grateful to have this challenge in order to make a dent in my supply!

This Paper Phenomenon's 2020 Ladies Who Lunch Collection totally rocks my scrappy motto:
Let the patterned paper do the work!

I chose this girly but grunge paper with all of the soft florals, added the birds on a wire washi (one of my faves), subbed in a whimsical bird leaving the cage, a stitched title, and just a few extra embellishments. A current photo & my motivational Bible verse completed my page.

Hope you were inspired by this challenge to find a creative rainbow! Can't wait to see what you share.

We love our followers here at CKCB and hope to see you here as well as over on our FaceBook Community and Instagram!! Here's what you still have to look forward to:
