082318 WM#272 be inspired by national dress

Whimsical Musings #272 be inspired by national dress.

In June, 1984 our precious Aunie took us on a British Isles tour to celebrate Greg's college graduation. I scrapped the trip in its own album long ago but remembered this photo of all of us in our new Irish togs - Greg got an Aran black sheep wool cardigan, I got a traditional Aran pullover (knit by Mrs. Galvin, according to the tag!) and Aunie chose a beautiful plaid wool wraparound kilt skirt. The photo was snapped in front of the woolen mill.

I checked on my "Scrap Inspiration" Pinterest board & found this for a scraplift:

from Gossamer Blue designer Chantal Philippe
Here's my take:

My background paper is 2017 Echo Park/Go. See. Explore. "Let's Fly Away".
All alphas are from my zealously guarded October Afternoon stash.
The green stripe is 2015 OA/Summertime "Fresh Fruit" b-side.
The orange xoxo pattern is 2017 Pink Fresh Studio/Live More "Honest" b-side.
I included the stitching detail along the edges & punched a few tiny hearts for shamrocks.
I made the Xs & Os with colors from the flag of Ireland to reinforce the national theme.

Looking through this old album has inspired me to get out my "big" camera & have a play!
Hope you are inspired to pick one of the Whimsical Musings past prompts HERE.
To date I have close to 140 of the 300 prompts done & have loved every page I've made.

050117 May CKC Kit Reveal

A little bit of whimsy :)

Ready for a look at May's kit?
Of course you are...

Gossamer Blue March 2017
I thought I could match up a lot of the papers from my Felicity Jane stash but that didn't pan out. I took a little different approach & took inspiration from the papers for the rest of my kit first.

Let's take a peek in the Magic Blue Box!

This paper put me in mind of these alphas.

The adorable critter paper bear reminded me of these.

The circular & multi-colored letters yielded this selection of alphas.

Cursive Thickers should help me make a large scripty word.

The charming books became frames.

The "A" side of the polka dot paper had these great banners - I couldn't resist!

Here is the full set of papers that I selected.

I know - it's very lean for me! The yellow dot is the only one that is spot on (pun intended.)

My full kit - "Where the Wild Things Are"

Eager to create with this one.
Oops!!! Update (I forgot to post my alphas, lol...)

Make sure you don't miss a stop on the hop!
And check back on the 4th for our forgery tutorials & links.
