050116 CKC May Counterfeit Kit Reveal

Our Guest Designer in May, Jane from a little scrap... ,
is sure to bring some exciting creativity to the blog this May!
Make sure you give her an especially warm welcome.

This month at Counterfeit
Kit Challenge blog we go
with Quirky Kits May/June 2014

MAIN KIT "It's My Party" LINK
LITE KIT "Shiny Happy People" LINK
EMBELLISHMENT KIT "You've Got The Love"  LINK
You can counterfeit any or all of the kits into your own custom version.

I've done a pretty close match for the Main Kit,
plus my own Add-On kit of extra goodies
somewhat similar to the Embellishment Kit.
There may even be a bit more before I am done,
but I will share that with you later in the month.

Let's check out the Magic Blue Box!

Papers: (top row l-r) Artist Paper from Somerset Memories, Gold Dot Sheer Metallic from We R, Once Upon a Time paper stack from DCWV, watercolor paper unknown, (bottom row l-r) House of Three Daily Junque - Numbers B-side from Pink Paislee 2011, Maggie Holmes Click from Crate Paper 2012, exclusive paper from Felicity Jane March "Tuesday" kit, Snapshots - Click! B-side from October Afternoon Daily Flash collection.

The black ribbon was from one of my Felicity Jane kits - they always arrive wrapped up in polka dot tissue & tied with a ribbon. The alphas are "Bits" by American Crafts, Studio Calico altered wood veneers inspired by the Felicity Jane paper. That lovely handcrafted crochet-edge circle element was part of a counterfeited prize from our own Susan Brochu's blog, Little Things, Big Days!

The gold Dritz thread was straight from my sewing supplies. The flair are from assorted sources & include four sequined "polka Dots!) from Webster's Pages. The gold "ribbon" is actually a washi tape forgery from a previous month which I will link to in my May Forgeries on the Fourth post.  The altered Art-C paper roses are another counterfeit from this month's inspiration.

Then I have this nod to the embellishment kit:

I know I have some travel & birthdays to scrap so I've included an encore appearance of the Pink Paislee Atlas ephemera pack & A/C's "Grow" Thickers puffy stickers that are bright & fun. A few chalkboard elements, assorted enamel dots & shapes, a triangle themed stamp sets from Citrus Twist  (again courtesy of Susan's prize) and a pack of gold rub-ons from My Mind's Eye.

A gorgeous piece of wire ribbon & a pot of sequins round out the mix!
I'm all "a-GLOW" about using this kit!

Don't miss one stop on the hop -
inspiration abounds on the CKC Design Team!

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Well now, you say that it's a close forgery (and I can really see exactly why you have included each item in your forgery) but I much prefer your kit to the original! It seems softer and much prettier to me!

  9. Whoa - I had to scroll back to the inspiration a couple of times - you put together an amazing replica of the original. You really captured the light and delicate pieces of the quirky kit. I prefer yours to the original, especially your selection of embellishments. You know that I love those puffy stickers and I'm excited to see a couple things from my prize pack in there too. Looking forward to seeing your pages this month!

I'm always on the lookout for your wood veneer choice for the month.
Favorite bit. That purple ribbon. I would play with that, winding it through my fingers. Probably for hours!
